WAYS TO GIVE
STEWARDSHIP – ACKNOWLEDGING GOD’S GIFTS TO US
Please remember St. Andrew the Apostle Church in your prayers as we fulfill our mission “to offer the opportunity to live and grow to the fullest in the name of Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith.” Please kindly consider supporting our mission by making a tax deductible contribution. Your gift makes a difference!
“One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to him, "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what good are these for so many?" Jesus said, "Have the people recline." John 6:8-10
Cash Gifts
Most gifts are made through outright cash
contributions in our Sunday and Holy Day
collections. Additionally, other cash gifts
can be accepted.
Honorarium and Memorial Gifts
Honorarium and memorial gifts can be made in honor or memory of a loved one or friend, special achievements or events. In the vestibule of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, we have a special envelope for this purpose, or you can call or stop in the Parish Office.
Kroger’s
Kroger’s will donate 4% of your purchases to St. Andrew the Apostle Church when you use your Neighborhood Program gift card to purchase groceries and gasoline. Please contact the Parish Office to receive a card with $1 already loaded on it.
Mass Cards
You can purchase a Mass intention card, either by calling the Parish Office, 831-3353, or by stopping in the Parish Office. The cost is $5.
Matching Gifts
Maximize the impact of your gift to St. Andrew the Apostle with a matching gift. Many companies sponsor programs that enable their employees and retirees to double or triple their personal contributions. The process is not complicated. Contact your human resources department for a matching gift form, fill it out, and forward it to the Parish Office. Inquire where you work about matching gift options.
Meijer’s
Meijer’s provides an opportunity for our parish to receive money from your purchases at Meijer. You can receive a form in the Parish Office or register online at www. Meijer.com/rewards – St. Andrew’s number is 412738. Meijer’s will send between 1% and 4% of your purchase totals to St. Andrew.
Pledges
Parishioners and donors may call our Parish Office, 831-3353, to make a pledge.
Securities and Stocks
Appreciated securities are an excellent asset to use in making a charitable gift. You can maximize tax savings by receiving an income tax charitable deduction for the fair market value of the appreciated securities and you may avoid capital gains tax. Your broker can electronically transfer stock directly to St. Andrew Church.
PLANNED GIVING
“Leaving a Legacy of Loaves Society”
St. Andrew the Apostle Parish would like to recognize parishioners or others who make a special lifetime gift or provide for a gift after death to the parish. Please tell us so we can honor you in this way. Your gift will provide a “Legacy of Loaves” so that our parish will flourish into the future.
Bequests
Bequests are planned gifts through which a donor can leave a gift to benefit St. Andrew the Apostle Church, by including the church in their will. You can arrange for a cash gift or assets or residual property. Bequests may be made for a specific amount, a percentage of your estate or even a portion of your estate.
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has created verbiage for bequests and wills. In general, it should state: “I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to Daniel E. Pilarczyk, Archbishop of Cincinnati, his successors in office, title and trust, as such Archbishop, as Trustee for the use of the benefit of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Roman Catholic Church in Milford, Ohio, the sum of $_______.”
Charitable Remainder Trust
Under a Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT), a donor transfers money or property in trust for the benefit of St. Andrew the Apostle Church. The trust makes payments to the donor or to the designated beneficiaries for a period of years (not to exceed 20 years) designated by the trust agreement. When these payments terminate, the assets in the trust pass to St. Andrew.
Lead Trust
This planned gift provides an immediate income stream to St. Andrew the Apostle Church for either a fixed period of years (up to 20) or for the donor's lifetime. At the end of the period, the principal reverts to the donor or passes to the donor's heirs. This trust shelters current income while preserving principal for you and your family.
Life Insurance Policy and Individual Retirement Account
You can designate St. Andrew the Apostle as a beneficiary of your life insurance benefits. If you are over 70.5 years of age, you can now make a direct contribution to St. Andrew the Apostle church from your IRA without recognizing income.
Real Estate or Intellectual Property
Real estate or other specific property may be one of the best gifts that can be made to St. Andrew. If you make a gift of an appreciated asset to St. Andrew, you may be able to deduct the full fair market value of the property, including all appreciation.
Simple Gift Annuity
You can designate cash or appreciated assets as a cash annuity. This gift is easy to create and can increase spendable cash, thereby providing substantial tax savings.
All donors are urged to seek the advice of a competent legal or tax professional as to the consequences of their gift prior to entering into a Planned Gift Arrangement. For more information on making a contribution to St. Andrew the Apostle Church, please contact Shirley Soellner, Pastoral Associate for Facilities and Finances, at 831-3353, or by email, ssoellner@bizcinci.rr.com.
